   easy selection of frequently used Scene Positions, you can now freely 
   assign your favorites to SP1 and SP2 on the mode dial. Also, the display

   balance ready to capture the image.
* Intelligent Flash plus High Sensitivity
   No more flash "wash out" of subjects and underexposed backgrounds. 
   Intelligent Flash automatically sets the ideal balance of flash output 
   and sensitivity. Foreground subjects and background detail all come out 
   beautifully and naturally -- just the way your eye sees them.
* PS (Picture Stabilization) Mode
   Just turn the mode dial to the PS mode to eliminate blurring caused by a 
   fast-moving subject or camera shake! The F40fd automatically sets both 
   ISO sensitivity as high as ISO2000 and the shutter speed. Now press the 
   shutter to capture the moment forever in sharp beautiful detail.
* Natural Light & with Flash
   Choose this mode when you cannot decide whether to use flash or not 
   under low lighting or strong backlighting. With just one press of the 
   shutter, you can take the same scene twice: one photo with high 
   sensitivity and natural light and the other with Intelligent Flash. 
   Later you can choose one or keep both.
* 2.5-inch 230,000 Pixel LCD
   Comfortably compose and view photos and slideshows on the spacious 2.5" 
   LCD screen. The 230,000-pixel resolution displays photos and the new GUI 
   menus in easy-to-see detail.
* Wide View Film
   The 2.5" LCD screen is coated with FujiFilm's WV film for an expanded
   screen viewing angle. Hold it over your head for a high-angle shot. The 
   wide view lets you comfortably see and compose the shot. Afterwards the 
   wide viewing angle lets everybody gather around and view the superb
   results at the same time.
