The freeConnect Smart 2420 offers network manageability at an affordable price. Designed for deployment at the network edge, this versatile switch contains two gigabit ports for connecting to backbone switches or directly to servers to reduce traffic bottleneck, while its 10/100 ports connect up to 24 other devices to the network. The wire-speed backplane combined with flow control further reduces any traffic congestion on the switch.

The freeConnect Smart 2420 supports quality of service (QoS) which gives latency-sensitive traffic such as multimedia, video conferencing, and VoIP higher priority over standard traffic. The switch also supports VLANs for network segmentation and port trunking for increased bandwidth between switches.
