Product Description:
MODEL- KN2108 VENDOR- ATEN TECHNOLOGY
FEATURES- 8-port CAT-5 3-User IP KVM Over the NET
The KN2108 is an eight port IP KVM allowing three users (one local
and two networked) to simultaneously log on and independently
control computers on three separate ports.
Network control can be accessed from any workstation on your LAN or
WAN, or from the Internet (requires the installation of client
software).
The KN2108 can be cascaded to control a maximum of 64 servers [for
compatible KVMs see the Supported KVM list].
To allow for ease of installation and compact 1U rack mounting, the
KN2108 uses a high density configuration consisting of standard
RJ45 connectors and CAT5 cables.
Connecting to PS/2, USB, Sun USB, Sun Legacy, or Serial devices is
merely a matter of selecting the correct CPU adapter (see the
accessories list for model numbers).
ATEN's proprietary video technology allows servers to be placed up
to 40 meters away from the KN2108 and still maintain a maximum
video resolution of 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz.
Combining the KN2108 with Aten's Power Distribution Unit (PN0108 /
PN0116), the KN2108 allows Administrators to not only manage, but
to also, shut down and reboot their systems from any location world
wide.
Your choice of two functionally identical client applications will
allow your work station to communicate with the KVM, one is a
universal Java client that will work with any Java enabled OS, or
if you prefer, a Windows only client (only the work station need be
a Windows OS). Because the KVM intercepts and interprets the
keyboard and mouse signals the KVM will work with practically any
operating system installed on your servers.
The unit is password protected using a three level log on: multi-
administrator; multi-user; multi-viewer. Ports denied accesses to a
particular user are not displayed in the OSD or Panel Array modes
when that user is logged on. Advanced security and encryption
technologies include 1024-bit RSA; 56-bit DES; 256-bit AES; 128-bit
SSL, and RADIUS Support.
Includes CAT5 KVM Over the NET, Firmware Upgrade Cable, Power Cord,
User Manual, Quick Start Guide, Registration Card, Rack Mount Kit
(brackets & Phillips head hex M3 x 8 screws), Foot Pad Set (4 pcs).
