This device is suitable for interconnecting LAN devices or for network segmentation in applications requiring Fast Ethernet or Power over Ethernet functionality. This lineup features the NetVanta 1224R unique, all-in-one access platforms that combine switch, router, modular WAN interface, and firewall in a single 1U chassis, with optional VPN and dial backup. The NetVanta 1224R PoE platforms also provide standards-based 802.3af PoE functionality for powering IP phones, Wireless Access Points (WAPs), or other devices requiring LAN power.
