Product Description: 1000BASE-SX MM 220m to 1000BASE-LX SM 12km Managed Media Converter User-selectable link fault detection modes facilitate quick fault detection, isolation, and reporting The iConverter 1000FF manageable media converter is a member of the modular iConverter product family. It provides single-mode to multimode fiber conversion and is a cost-effective solution to extending network distances by connecting multimode fiber network devices over single-mode fiber cabling. The single-mode fiber port supports SC connectors and distances up to 12km. The multimode fiber port supports SC connectors and distances up to 220m. The 1000FF features user-selectable Link Propagate, Link Segment and Remote Fault Detection modes to facilitate quick fault detection, isolation, and reporting. The iConverter 1000FF modules are hot swappable and can be mounted in a 19-Module (2U, 3.5 inch high) or 5-Module (1U, 1.75 inch high) rack-mountable chassis (19-inch or 23-inch) with any combination of redundant AC and 48VDC power supplies. They can also be mounted in a 2-Module AC or 48VDC powered chassis or in a 1-Module AC powered chassis. The iConverter is an In-Band or Out-of-Band SNMP-managed media converter. Supporting Gigabit Ethernet technologies, the iConverter family is suitable for LAN and MAN networks where copper to fiber, multimode fiber to single-mode fiber, or dual fiber to single-fiber conversions are required. Management is achieved by using a Network Management Module (NMM) that can be accessed via Telnet using the serial port through Omnitron’s NetOutlook SNMP-based management software or any other SNMP software. The management provides real-time port and module information, remote parameter configuration and trap notification. Some of the real-time 1000FF parameters that can be monitored include power, link and data receive status. Other parameters include module type and model, hardware and software revisions and serial numbers and a user defined field usable for user or location identification. The user can override the 1000FF module’s physical switch settings by using SNMP or Telnet to remotely configure switch-selectable parameters such as Link Propagate, Link Segment or Remote Fault Detection. In addition to all standard iConverter SNMP traps such as module insertion and removal, the 1000FF modules can generate traps on port state changes including link-up and link-down. Trap monitoring of specific events can be selectively enabled or disabled by the network administrator. Features: 1000BASE-SX or 1000BASE-LX Single-Mode (SM) to Multimode (MM) Fiber converter Supports multimode, single-mode, and single-fiber with SC connectors Supports distances up to 12km User-selectable link fault detection modes facilitate quick fault detection, isolation, and reporting Telnet or serial port interface module configuration SNMP management via NetOutlook™ provides real-time port and module information, remote parameter configuration and trap notification Modules are hot-swappable in 19-Module, a 5-Module, a 2-Module or 1-Module chassis LED displays for immediate visual status of each port Conforms to IEEE 802.3, 1000BASE-SX and 1000BASE-LX specifications Lifetime Warranty |
