Product Description: • FlexPoint Gx Media Converter 1000BASE-T to 1000BASE-X Gigabit UTP with Single Mode SC connectors The FlexPoint Gx is a Gigabit Ethernet fiber to twisted pair (UTP) converter. It supports the IEEE 802.3ab 1000BASE-Sx/Lx and 1000BASE-T standards The FlexPoint Gx converter is an IEEE 802.3ab compliant Gigabit Ethernet 1000BASE-T unshielded twisted pair (UTP) to 1000BASE-LX fiber converter. It is a member of the modular FlexPoint product line that provides a wide range of connectivity options across different network and media types. The FlexPoint Gx features Auto-Negotiation which allows it to auto-adapt to the full/half duplex and flow control services supported by the device connected to its UTP port. User-selectable override options are provided to set to the desired mode. The FlexPoint Gx operates in full-duplex providing an effective two (2) Gigabit data rate or in half-duplex at one (1) Gigabit. This feature maximizes the throughput when connecting to high bandwidth full-duplex devices such as servers or switches. Network flow control is supported via an auto-selected or user-selected "Pause" function that assists in relief of network congestion by providing "back pressure" to the sending device. The FlexPoint Gx fiber supports 1300nm (Lx) and uses SC connectors. The single-mode model supports distances of up to 65 km (40 mi.) User-selectable Link Propagation is available to facilitate Spanning-Tree redundant network architectures as well as for connection to SNMP or other network managed devices which monitor link availability. A user-selectable override is provided to isolate the link detection to a per segment basis. The FlexPoint Gx UTP port uses a modular EIA/TIA 568 RJ45 connector and supports category 5 or higher wiring with distances of up to 100m. (328ft.). Automatic polarity detection and correction assists in network installation and maintenance. The FlexPoint can be mounted stand-alone utilizing a wall-mounting kit or rack-mounted using a 5-unit shelf. When used stand-alone or on the shelf, it can be powered from a 110 or 220 VAC power adapter or from a 5, 9 or 18-72VDC power. For high-density applications, the FlexPoint Gx can be mounted in a 14-unit, dual power-redundant AC or 48VDC Powered Chassis.
