HP OpenView Storage Volume Growth enables easy, non-disruptive capacity expansion for Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003 with zero application downtime. This host-based software allows a system administrator to grow an existing volume onto available space on a Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003 basic disk. Only partitions and free space adjacent to the end of the volume being grown are eligible to be incorporated into the volume during volume growth. The system will remain online, the data on the volume will remain intact, and the operation of the user's applications is not interrupted. This software supplements the array-based dynamic capacity expansion capability of the StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array by expanding the capacity at the Windows file system level. This enables the user's application to take advantage of the new capacity without rebooting the system.
