Product Description: The Panelmount Environmental Monitoring Unit (EMU) performs two functions. First, it allows Facility Managers and Network Administrators to remotely monitor the status of APC's Panelmount Surge Protection Devices (aka: "SPD" or "TVSS") from anywhere in the world via an Internet browser. Secondly, the Panelmount EMU provides email notification in the event of TVSS failure. When a failure occurs, a dry contact closure within the TVSS unit signals the Panelmount EMU to send up to four email messages to predetermined addresses, notifying them of the alarm condition. The email messages can be sent to computers, pagers, cell phones, and Palm computers anywhere in the world via the Internet. The EMU has its own Internet Protocol (IP) address and connects through an RJ-45 network cable to any existing computer or computer network with uninterrupted Internet access using a 10Base-T connection. This Panelmount Environmental Monitoring Unit (240 volt version) features built-in Web/SNMP management.
