Product Description: Cleaning Cartridge There are two ways to use the cleaning cartridge. 1) You can issue a command to run the cartridge from the Control Panel. or 2) You can choose the Auto Clean mode on the Configure Menu. The procedures that follow, instruct you how to install a cleaning cartridge, how to clean a drive using front panel controls, and how to remove the cleaning cartridge. Before Using a Cleaning Cartridge NOTE: The cleaning cartridge is abrasive, and should not be used unless the Use Cleaner LED comes on. Cleaning Cartridge Required Location If you run the cleaning cartridge manually, there are no restrictions about the location of the cleaning cartridge. However, if you want to use the Auto Clean option, you must reserve one or more slots in the magazine by using the Reserved Slots option. Any reserved slots in the magazine become inaccessible to the host software. In these cases, the LoaderXpress LXL1U11 designates these inaccessible slots as cleaning cartridge slots. If you have reserved slots, Cleaning Slot 1 is the first reserved slot in the magazine. Auto Clean Mode The Auto Clean Mode is not functional with the present firmware release. When implemented, you enable the Auto Clean Mode on the Configuration Menu, the LoaderXpress LXL1U11 will run the cleaning cartridge (from a reserved slot) automatically whenever the Use Cleaner LED comes on. |
