Product Description: The Air Distribution Unit is a unique 2U rack-mounted fan unit that works with an existing precision A/C system to deliver cool air to the equipment contained in a rack enclosure. The Air Distribution Unit connects into the raised floor and pulls supply air directly into the enclosure thereby preventing the conditioned air from mixing with warmer room air before it reaches the equipment. In environments without raised floors, the Air Distribution unit pulls supply air from around the bottom of the enclosure where the air is the coolest. With dual fans, the unit works to eliminate dangerous hot spots by boosting the airflow within the enclosure and can improve air delivery in poor static pressure areas, solving many of the heat issues facing today's data center manager. Features: Utilizes the existing precision A/C system to deliver increased airflow to rack enclosures with dangerous hot spots or with low static pressure due to it's location on the raised floor. Pulls the conditioned supply air directly from the raised floor plenum into the enclosure; or from around the bottom of the enclosure, where the air is the coolest. Provides additional airflow to maintain an optimal environment for densely-packed equipment. Improves the quality of the air reaching the equipment by providing 30% efficient filtration as per the ASHRAE 52.1-1992 standard. Provides an air pattern to deliver more equalized flow from the top to bottomof the rack enclosure. Even the equipment in the top of the enclosure receives lower inlet temperatures, which improves the life of the equipment. Ensures maximum uptime and continuous availability by providing redundancy through dual independently controlled blower fans and A-B power input feeds. The unit's depth is adjustable to fit APC's NetShelter enclosure or other 19" EIA-310-D enclosure with a removable bottom plate. The flexible design allows the unit to also be used in non-raised floor environments by removing the bellows |
